The Human Body Self-Paced

Imagine yourself dissecting the physiological mystery behind a marathon runner's sudden collapse, piecing together clues hidden within their circulatory and nervous systems to diagnose the underlying issue. Or, delving into the fascinating world of Tourette's Syndrome, exploring the neurological puzzle behind involuntary movements and vocalizations.

In this human body course, you will crack the code to our incredible bodies through captivating real-world case studies. Each case study presents a unique challenge, pushing students to apply their knowledge and uncover the awe-inspiring realities of human health. By gaining invaluable insights into the factors influencing energy levels, exercise, sleep patterns, and overall health, students will learn to make informed choices that optimize their body's incredible potential.

This course will use hands-on activities, virtual simulations, and other assignments to engage students in learning the details of each human body system and the intricate connection between the systems.

About the Self-Paced Course Model

Self-Paced courses are designed for students who need flexibility in their academic schedule. Teachers answer questions and interact with students in Private Topics, provide feedback on work, and host office hours. Students work independently on course activities; the course does not include class discussion assignments or other collaborative work.

This course has start dates on each Wednesday throughout the year. Students must maintain enrollment for a minimum of 4 weeks and have up to 16 weeks to complete all assignments in the course. It is expected that students will work for approximately 90 hours to complete this course, though the amount of time may vary depending on a student’s work habits and comfort with the material.
