What Are New Flexibly Paced Courses and How Do They Work?

Having a flexible schedule with VHS Learning's asynchronous online courses greatly benefits students and teachers. For even more flexibility after the start of the school year, VHS Learning now offers Flexibly Paced Courses which start on the first of every month now through February 1st. (December 1st for AP® courses).
In an effort to accommodate students who missed the semester start but would like to start AP® or full-year courses as soon as possible, we are adding additional start dates every Monday until November 28, 2022.
16 Flexible Courses are available for the 2022-23 academic year:
- Algebra 1 Flexible
- AP® Calculus AB Flexible
- AP® Calculus BC Flexible
- AP® Computer Science Principles Flexible
- AP® Environmental Science Flexible
- AP® Macroeconomics Flexible
- AP® Microeconomics Flexible
- AP® Music Theory Flexible
- AP® Physics 1 Flexible
- AP® Spanish Language and Culture Flexible
- AP® Statistics Flexible
- AP® United States Government Flexible
- AP® United States History Flexible
- English 9 Flexible
- English 11 Flexible
- Spanish 1 Flexible
Flexible courses are full, teacher-led courses with deadlines so later enrollees will progress through course materials at a faster pace. Courses will end alongside the end of the school year. VHS Learning wishes to prepare students for success in their future, and flexible course schedules can give students more chances to take a VHS Learning course and earn credit.

Now, whether they’re working toward academic goals, career goals, or they simply want to explore a new interest, our Flexible courses give them more choice regarding when they embark on learning.”

VHS Learning teachers interact with students in asynchronous discussions, host weekly office hours, and invite students to monthly one-on-one progress meetings,” DeFuria continued. “This new course model is part of our mission to empower schools with the industry’s best teacher-led online learning programs and provide students with an expansive choice of courses that prepare them for college, careers, and beyond.”
